Carrburrito's

My long lost Mexican love.

Best when eaten in the company of friends as reliably enjoyable as the food.

Big Girl Caffeine

I am not a coffee drinker.

Understatement. I've never had a cup of coffee. I've scrunched my nose after small sips of the coffee of others, but I've never had a cup of coffee.  I've never desired to change this either...until I was in San Francisco and the roasteries smelled so damn good and the coffee drinkers looked so damn cool. Well, I never made it to the cool SF roasteries, so I did it up Raleigh style.

Per recommendation from my barista/piano teacher/kindred, Janna, I made my first big girl caffeine experience a cappuccino at Morning Times downtown.

The spot was charming and bright with Raleigh sunlight. The cappuccino? I think I'm just a tea girl...

It's Autumn

The chorus in North Carolina is very, "Where is fall? We skipped right to winter!" But, after hearing that it is snowing in Massachusetts, it feels very autumn to me in NC.

Cotton on the Roadside, Cotton in the Ditch

An unfriendly and terrifying (to me) collie chased me back to my car after I snapped this.
Dedication to the craft.

For the Love of the Banana

To save these two quite ripe bananas from becoming waste

Sweet Tea: We're Back in Business

Grandma's Sweet Tea

This is not Grandma's Sweet Tea in the sense that my Grandmaw stirred the lemons in with her big ol' wooden spoon, and then I sipped it on her porch in Louisiana.  This is more my Bronx-born Gram's sweet tea that she ordered at a restaurant and let me photograph because I'd drank half of mine when I knew I wanted a picture. Wicked southern.
