Christmas With A 4-Year-Old - That's The Good Stuff

Children love the formal shots:

And the piece de resistance:

"What do you want for Christmas, Sophia?"
"Um, a wheelchair and crutches."

Stitches

I think the story is that my great-grandmother made it.

I know my great Aunt Schlema had it for awhile, and made some repairs,

And that now I have it.

I know that drinking green tea, on my blue couch, underneath the crazy-colorful quilt feels so zen.

I also know that quilt covers Rock.

Now it's my turn to make some repairs.  I'm stoked.

When I Connect With A Stranger, My Hope Grows

This super cool girl at a bar told me she liked my locket, and asked what was inside.

"Nothing."

So we rectified the situation.

Love it.

Rock is Here

We've readied my apartment for the holidays.

Our first Christmas together, modified.

Merry!

O.R.E.O.

I needed a reliable, uncontroversial, universally loved, more exciting than chocolate chip cookie to bring into the office I am interviewing with.

I put Deb's recipe on steroids.

Snow, Duh.

You may have heard,
it snowed in NC today.

At one point I thought it was trite when people spoke about needing to live in a climate with changing seasons,

but there is definitely something hopeful, some kind of new or changed perspective, that comes with changing weather.

Whiskey

Hopefully this picture is light enough to show the waxed handlebar mustache of the bartender and the tattoos and pin curls of the patron, but is dark enough to show how swanky and smoky and moody the bar is.

And, obviously, I had my first glass of whiskey.
On the rocks.
And it was difficult.

I'm So Sentimental For My Friends These Days

It's awesome to know that at age 26 we can still find new friends who we feel like we have known forever.

I Am Thankful For

Turns out not where, but who you're with that really matters.

Thank you, people that I love and that love me.
